What will happen at my appointment?
We want you to be fully aware of what will happen during a typical 45-60 minute consultation or pregnancy test appointment. When you arrive, you will be asked for a copy of your photo ID and will need to complete some paperwork. You will be joined in a room by your consultant, and they will discuss all your options (adoption, abortion, and pregnancy) and will provide you with a urine pregnancy test to complete at the center. After you receive the results, we will offer you additional services if needed. As your appointment concludes, your consultant may ask if they can pray for you. We offer prayer because we believe in it, so feel free to say yes or no. We encourage you to bring the father of the baby with you to the appointment.
Are your pregnancy tests urine or blood tests?
We offer free medical grade URINE pregnancy testing, performed in our office. “The Quick & Clear II pregnancy test is known for its high accuracy and quick results.”
What is “LMP”?
LMP stands for “last menstrual period” and is the first day of bleeding of the last menstrual period before becoming pregnant. LMP is often used to calculate the estimated date of delivery (EDD) for a baby.
Do you provide birth control or condoms?
As a pregnancy center, our focus is helping women (and men) understand and cope with pregnancies. We do not give out birth control or condoms as it’s not part of our scope of services.
Do you provide or refer for abortions?
We do not provide or refer for abortions. When considering abortion, it is important that you have all the information you need to make this decision, and we can help you with that. We provide abortion consultation services which include:
- A free pregnancy test, to ensure you are pregnant.
- Assistance in understanding and calculating how far along you are in your pregnancy.
- A no-cost ultrasound exam to ensure the fetus is viable and is located where it should be in the uterus.
Will everything be kept confidential?
Yes. We abide by and uphold all HIPAA standards. Everything you share will be kept confidential to the extent allowed by Oregon state law.
How soon can I get an ultrasound?
Our clinic policy is that a patient must have a pregnancy verification before we are able to schedule an appointment for an ultrasound exam. If you do not have a pregnancy verification, we can perform pregnancy testing at our clinic during your first appointment. You will then return for a second appointment in which we’ll perform the ultrasound exam.
What kind of material support do you offer?
We offer material support through our Earn While You Learn Program (EWYL). This is a free education program offering practical, real and applicable lessons and topics supporting you from pregnancy to parenting and onward. While learning essential parenting skills you will have the opportunity to shop in our baby boutique that is stocked with diapers, clothing, toys, baby furniture (as available), and so much more.
Are you a pro-life clinic?
We want to be fully transparent about who we are. Yes, some would consider us a pro-life center if you want to categorize us in political terms. The truth is, we value every human life including mom, dad, and baby. It is important to us that you are informed about your options and will talk to you truthfully about them. We will never pressure you into making any decision, but will treat you with the respect and kindness you deserve. Many of our consultants have experienced abortion and unplanned pregnancies, so they know what you are going through. We have been serving the northwest coast of Oregon and the southwest coast of Washington for over 30 years and have wisdom and experience in helping women work through the tough emotions that come with an unplanned pregnancy.
Do you offer any resources for men?
Fatherhood is an awesome responsibility and a tough job. Fatherhood Coaching is available through our clinic at no cost. We also offer many parenting classes to help you meet those parenting challenges. All of our volunteer coaches are fathers, and we understand what you are going through and are here to help. There is no obligation, and we can meet and talk when you are available. If you want more information about our Fatherhood Program, click here
Do you have medical staff on duty?
We are staffed by medical professionals and client advocates. Our volunteer Medical Director is a licensed physician, certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and reviews all ultrasounds.
