The Results You Get Here Are Results You Can Trust
There is a difference between wondering and knowing. If you have already taken a home test, you may have an answer or more uncertainty than before.
Home tests are easy to find but not always reliable. An incorrect testing window, a misread result, or an expired kit can all lead you in the wrong direction at a moment when accuracy counts most.
At Coast Pregnancy Clinic, we offer no-cost, lab-quality pregnancy testing in a confidential setting, administered by our clinical team. We want you to feel confident about the results you are receiving.
Signs You Might Be Pregnant
If you are unsure whether to come in, here are some early signs that commonly accompany pregnancy:
- A missed or late period
- Nausea or vomiting
- Breast tenderness or swelling
- Fatigue
- Frequent urination
- Light spotting or cramping
- Mood changes or food aversions
Stress, hormonal fluctuations, or other health factors can also cause these symptoms. The only way to know for certain is to test.
How the Test Works
Pregnancy tests identify the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin, or hCG, a hormone your body produces after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. As the pregnancy develops, hCG levels rise.
Testing too close to a missed period may return a negative result even when a pregnancy exists, because hCG may not yet be high enough to be detected. Our team can discuss timing with you and help determine whether a follow-up test makes sense for your situation.
A nurse will privately review your results with you before you leave.
What Happens Next
If your test is positive, the next recommended step is a limited OB ultrasound to verify gestational age, confirm the pregnancy’s location, and check for viability. Our team will talk with you about scheduling that appointment and help you understand what it involves.
